The following ideas deeply inspire and challenge my heart. They challenge the very nature of my being. How can I or any person reach such an eternal mark? How can we use our lives which are but fleeting vapors to touch the live of others? How can we escape a life of quiet desperation as Emerson asserted? We all have the gift of life but it is how we use that life that determines our legacy. I see my life as an adventure. Full of ups and downs. Nonetheless, I have determined that I shall not be moved. I shall never quit on life for she is the most precious thing I have after God. All I have. Cesar Chavez expressed this idea so beautifully when he said:
"When we are really honest with ourselves we must admit
that our lives are truly all that belongs to us. So it is how we use
our life that determine what kind of men we are. It is my deepest belief
that only by giving our lives do we find life.
I am convinced that the truest act of courage, the strongest act of
manliness, is to sacrifice ourselves in a totally nonviolent struggle for
justice.
To be a man is to suffer for others. God help us to be men."
Let it be known, I dream of being a light in this world. I want strength, courage, love, and fearlessness to course through my veins. I seek to be a man above men. I seek to be a gentle warrior with the force of God at my back. I seek to be.....well what God called all men to be protectors of what is noble and right. God help me to be the Man you require of me. As Mother Teresa prayed with passion and humility to God:
" Flood my soul with your spirit and life.
Penetrate and possess my whole being so
utterly that all my life may only be a radiance
of yours
Shine through me, and be in me, so that every soul I
come in contact with may feel your presence
in my soul.
Let them look up and see no longer me, but only
you, O Lord...........
Let me preach you without preaching, not by words
but by my example, by the catching force, the sympathetic
influence of what I do, the evident fullness of the love my heart
bears to you."
I will love as much as I can, I will give as much as I can, I will learn as much as I can, I will earn as much as I can, I will create as much as I can, I will travel as much as I can, I will serve as much as I can, I will smile as much as I can because when death comes to me I want to say I have lived my life. You should live yours too. We only have one life. No fear, No regrets.
